bin pull

We had this type of bin pull in the pantry where I grew up. I thought nothing of them until I became an architect. I was working on a house restoration and the owner wanted this type for her kitchen cabinets. At the time, they were not easy to find but we did get them. We even had to search through a salvage warehouse for the nickel sink she wanted.

When we moved into here, there was no hardware on the cabinets. I knew I wanted bin pulls. Restoration Hardware was around then but they weren't cheap. Not when you added up all the oil rubbed brass knobs I wanted for the cabinet doors. So each time I went to the mall, I bought a couple more. (Seems we went to the mall a lot since they had a play area and it was too hot to play outside with toddlers.)

Soon I had them all and my dad installed them. He chuckled at the nostalgia.
