Another sign of the changing seasons is the abundance of catalogs in my mailbox. This is the haul from one day. Even though I have used Catalog Choice to reduce the number of catalogs I get, there are still too many. I can't even remember the last time I used a catalog to place an order. If I can't do it online, I don't bother.
I found my hands have been dry lately. Could be a number of reasons but I am putting it down to fall. My favorite hand creme is from l'Occitane but it's expensive and I make a tube last for years! I found an old favorite from Neutrogena but it feels waxy and I don't care for the smell. I used to like the lotions from William-Sonoma but since I got the one from l'Occitane, the lavender just isn't the same. I wish I could find something that smells like the almond-cherry soap at Panera. I tried the Jergens but there is still the Jergens smell behind the almond-cherry. My nose and hands are snobs.
We don't really have fall in central Florida. The leaves don't shed their leaves until February and are only bare a few weeks before the buds reappear. So finding signs of autumn is not so easy especially when it's still 80+ degrees outside.

I tried to get the older boys to do letters, only a few were easy enough.
Figures that the sun hides when the theme is shadows. But this afternoon it was out as well as some neighbors. I asked the boys to play with their shadows and they were happy too cooperate. Probably because their parents don't shove the lens in their face every chance they get.
For some reason Andy calls calisthenics punch & kicks. And he likes to do them in the neighbor's driveway. Probably for the echo from the closed garage door. Silly but cute.
I am having computer issues and didn't get a chance to take a photo today. And most of photos are on the other computer inaccessible at the moment. So I went to my special cache and found a favorite from 2003. No pp, just SOOC jpeg.

I took this photo because I like what they did with an alley entrance. Instead of putting up a cheap aluminum awning, they spent the money and put up a roof that really says entrance. Then when I was editing the photo, I saw how desperate the place was in need of some grooming of it's own. Ah well, wasn't it the cobbler's kids that went without shoes?
This is actually an alley. I like how they converted the back into a storefront while keeping the character. Though I love the exposed beam because it lets you know that this isn't original to the structure. But what I really liked about this building was the sign, shown below.
No, I wasn't looking for men. I just liked the detail.
