You might make the argument that this is just a door handle and pretty simple at that. Indeed, it is. There isn’t any extra design and it certainly fits form follows function. But that’s just it. The little swoop at the end meant to keep fingers or hand from slipping off the edge are just enough flair. A thousands diamonds are spectactular but my eye will always be drawn to simple and elegant designs.

love it–the swoop gives it flair. Almost Shakerish in it’s simplicity, yet it has a little mid-century modern va-va voom

Reminds me of the commercial for the faucet where the wife asked the highly acclaimed designer to design a house around their faucet. Very basic, and yet so very classic.

I really liked all your classic car photos but this one stands out the most for me.
I’ve taken quite a few classic car shots like yours but never even looked at the door handles. I will now pay more attention to this feature
