Ryan let me photograph his hands today while he was playing with my iPod Touch. OK, he tolerated it because I wasn’t looking through the view finder but had the camera sitting on the table and I was talking to him. When I got these back into Lightroom, I noticed how rough his nails and cuticles are. He won’t let me near his nails! They look very much like mine. Even with all the milk & dairy we consume, out nail are thin & brittle. Oh well… the hands are strong.

I was in Photoshop and went to hit Pioneer Woman’s Soft & Faded and clicked Vintage instead. Oh that isn’t what I wanted! But then again…
But they look like a boy’s hands…used!!!
Oh I LOVE the processing on this one. Definitely a wonderful mis-click!
They definitely look like boy hands. I think the processing is perfect for these, and happy mistake :)
Very much BOY!
Love the DOF and the processing on this.
Definitely boy hands! Love the processing..it really works with this shot.
So cool. I love hands a lot. Its an obsession and I love that you had just set your camera on the table and shot it. Mikki is the same way about her nails. I get so embarrassed when I notice how long they are! She is even worse about her toe nails.
real boy’s hands! Great angle and love the PP!
Vintage works well with this shot. I captured a similar shot of my son Ryan playing video games – pretty much the same technique (camera idly sitting by, casual conversation…you know the drill). Great shot (also a member of the frail nail club!)
I love the processing here… it adds so much that “rough boy” feeling- my boys’ nails are the same way. They just don’t care, LOL! Boys!
I think the vintage looks great on this shot! I love the focus on his fingers and your dof! Great capture!
Love the processing on this! Nice capture!
Ohhhhh, “vintage” is just perfect for this little “slice of life” shot.
nice with the textures in the photo ie:stripes and octagons(?)
Hmmm, I don’t consume any milk and very little dairy and have strong nails that grow really well. Maybe try that strategy. :)
Great processing on this, I also really like your focus and composition.
