Welcome to my blog. My name is Sharon. I am a 40-something single mom. I love photography, making cards, reading and listening to music. I hate housework. I work from home. I live in Florida.
My boys have autism. Before you think anything, know it’s not that much harder to raise kids with autism. Sometimes it is frustrating, sometimes it is funny. Mostly it is just different.
I have been blogging for several years. I have had blogs all over the place and with different names. My first blog was called ohbladioblahblog. It’s a play on the Beatles song, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. Of course, when I looked for the exact name, I couldn’t find it so my spelling is off. Oh well. At some point, I thought to split my blog into several including one for photography and one for autism. I have since recombined the autism blog back into this one. Although we deal with autism everyday, it just doesn’t seem like a separate thing. It’s part of our family just like our names.
About the name, now. It started when Ali Edwards picked one little word for the year. Ali Edwards is a scrapbook celebrity with a large following. Her idea spread and I actually read about it on two different blogs. I was challenged to come up with my own word. As a chronic procrastinator, I chose the word now. Now instead of later. Do it now! It’s also a good reminder as time is so fleeting and we should live now.
Now also serves as my favorite topic of the moment, day, week, etc… I tend to focus on something for a while then my interest wanes. So, although this blog is mostly of my life, right now, it’s also a a smattering of those things I find interesting, fascinating and such.
I am not a writer. I am (was?) an architect and I see things in pictures. Getting the words out isn’t always easy for me. I can handle grammar. Anything longer than a sentence or two and who knows what will happen.
I applaud you if you have gotten this far. And I think I need to come up with another post if you are looking for stuff to read.
Sharon
